poem 11

Write a poem that begins with the last thing you can remember someone saying to you today or
yesterday. See if you can use that line two or three times.

“I was stuck in traffic for six hours…”

yet, being by your side used to bring me

comfort

I bite my nails, acquire new habits

just to not bring you to anger

i was stuck between choosing me

and making you happy

it seems I am submissive to your beck and

call

how did I get here, again?

I was stuck in the past already

trauma from men, their anger

far worse than this accident

yet, you drive so

recklessly

not remembering my aching body from last week’s

accident

I was stuck drowning in other people’s

expectation, yet I didn’t think from you

I would need to reach a mile

a goal, gain a reward to recieve

human attention

i was stuck at loving myself to be alone

damn beast of demons fighting me

loneliness, depression, stress

why you adding more fuel

and not bring peace

nor an olive branch of repentance
